Pentest Limited was formed in June 2001 with a four year plan to become the most highly regarded,
independent provider of technical security consultancy available in the UK. It is planned that by
June 2007, Pentest Limited will employ around 40 consultants. For a regular IT consultancy,
this represents normal growth but for a company devoted to technical security it promises to
be a challenge. Half the new employee intake will be experienced security consultants, while
the remainder, though less experienced, will have the aptitude and attitude to learn a great
deal in a short time. For this latter group, individuals will attend world class seminars/conferences
and receive in house training. Throughout their orientation they will be supported and
closely monitored by their peers. This learning program is designed to produce high calibre
security consultants, able to work under pressure and to the highest professional and technical
standards.
Experienced consultants should have more than five years solid security experience and several years
experience of large complex IT architectures. Previous development experience and knowledge of Oracle
as a dba or developer is an advantage.
Less experienced candidates will be bright with high level computing or engineering qualifications.
Ideally with development backgrounds, they should have experience of working in a team environment,
and have a genuine interest in IT Security. Support experience is a distinct advantage.
Regardless of experience all candidates need to be pleasant, sociable characters who enjoy other
people's company, make friends easily and possess exceptional listening skills. Pentest is looking
for people with balance and candidates should have serious interests outside of the IT industry.
